The end of daycare
Today was Walter’s last day of daycare, and he will be starting preschool the week after next (we’re heading out of town for a week). So, his teacher gave me a Portfolio of Walter and it documents things he has learned and some stories about him. Here are some exerts:
I was helping a child scoop some peas on his plate. Walter saw me do this and said, “Good job, Julie.”
Walter saw me cleaning the tables after breakfast and wanted to help. So I gave him a soapy washcloth and he cleaned the tables and chairs.
A child was sad and crying in our bathroom. Walter went back to the bathroom and said to the child, “Shh, its okay. Shh, its okay.”
Walter told me one day, “Hey Julie - I’ll beat you to the top of the coconut tree!”
